Taravana is a disease often found among expert freedivers such as Polynesian island natives who habitually dive deep many times in close succession, usually for food or pearls. These free-divers may make 40 to 60 dives a day, each of 100 to 140 feet. Featuring real time algorithms, the iDive calculates your real tissue saturation status and calculates your repetitive dive profile according to your previous dives. The iDive is neither more nor less conservative in comparison with other computers; it is just “right”. The Buhlmann algorthm ZHL-16B calculates the minimum recovery time to avoid nitrogen saturation, and afterward decompression in real time for unprecedented freediving safety in a dive watch.
Once the dive starts, the timer automaticaly displays time spent on the surface and a black band on the face disappears only when sufficient time has passed to re-immerse. The iDive has decompression and dehydration controls which appear on the screen to remind the diver to drink!
Machined from a solid block of 316 stainless steel, the case is matched to an equally impressive sapphire crystal. The anti-scratch crystal has a 9/10 hardness factor on the Mohs scale–diamond has 10/10–which means you can’t scratch it even deliberately with a knife. The sapphire crystal is commonly used on top-range watches like Rolex and Omega. It suports pressure to ~220 meters (721 feet). The control knobs are designed to withstand effects of pressure.
iDive Free Avantgarde is equipped with a rechargeable battery with USB port guaranteed for ten years. This avoids opening the computer, elimingating the risks of infiltration, humidity, and seepage.
iDive is also equipped with software to manage your dive profiles.
